What is stem cell research?
It's a kind of research base on recent breakthroughs in inheritance, where scientists see great potential for the use of human stem cell in the treatment of copious medical conditions, ranging from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases to diabetes, spinal cord injuries, and degenerative heart conditions. The pluripotent temperament of these cells method that they can develop into any kind of bodily tissue that have been severely worn out or lost.
where they bear the cells of an embroyo and contained by essesence make the cell into any type of cell they want, so for example for cancer they can make bright cells for paralyzed folks and what not.....not a very suitable explanation but i hope you get the model
There are three different types of stem cells: embryonic, grown, and cord blood. Stem cells can renew themselves through mitotic division and can also differentiate into a breadth of other cells. Embryonic stem cell can theoretical differentiate into every type of cell surrounded by the body. Adult stem cells (also particular as progenitor cells) are limited to a specific band of cell differentiation. Cord blood contains hematopoietic stem cells, which can differentiate into the different blood cell in our body. The desire of stem cell research is to be able to treat diseases using stem cell that cannot be treated effectively by current methods (i.e. cancer, spinal injuries, parkinson's).
